Blog Entry #4: Expert Interview Reflection

Expert Interview Reflection

On Friday, September 15th, my team and I conducted our expert interview for our documentary. As stated in an earlier blog post, our documentary is about drag queens. Our expert interview is with Gary Wright, an amateur drag queen.

My team and I arrived at Gary's apartment to conduct the interview. We had to rearranged the furniture and position the cameras, provided by the producer, Brandon, to capture the most lighting. To capture the sound, we set up a boom mic, operated by Joshua, the sound person. This process took about two hours.

Once we finished setting up, Gary sat down and the director, Morgan, began to ask the interview questions. I operated one camera, and Brandon operated a different one in order to have two different shots of the interview. When editing the footage in post, I will have more than one shot with which to work.

The interview went very well, and when we were finished, we replaced the furniture and promptly packed up Brandon's equipment. After giving Gary many thanks for his time, our interview was complete.
